Acting Head of State Samdech Techo Hun Sen Sends Condolences on the Passing of Samdech Kong Sam Ol

Phnom Penh: The Acting Head of State of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, has expressed his heartfelt condolences following the passing of Samdech Kong Sam Ol, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Royal Palace, and Personal Adviser to the King of Cambodia. Samdech Kong Sam Ol passed away at the age of 94 due to old age on Monday morning, September 2, 2024.

In his message, Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended his deepest sympathies to Mrs. Oknha Thamma Mongkul Monithai, the wife of the late Samdech Kong Sam Ol. He expressed profound sorrow over the loss of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and an exemplary figure who embodied the values of integrity, wisdom, and dedication to his family, society, and nation.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen highlighted the remarkable life of Samdech Kong Sam Ol, praising him as a revered leader who demonstrated wisdom, determination, and a strong sense of national duty. He acknowledged Samdech Kong Sam Ol’s lifelong contributions to the nation, religion, and the monarchy, particularly his unwavering service in the Royal Palace, including his pivotal role in supporting the processions of His Majesty the King and Queen Mother.

“The passing of Samdech Kong Sam Ol is a profound loss of a distinguished leader who devoted his life to overcoming challenges for the betterment of the nation and its people,” stated Samdech Techo Hun Sen. He commended Samdech Kong Sam Ol’s achievements in national and international affairs, as well as his significant contributions to humanitarian causes, including his dedicated work with the Cambodian Red Cross Society.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen and his wife expressed their prayers for the soul of Samdech Kong Sam Ol, dedicating their thoughts and merits to the sacred entities of the world and the virtues of the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha, to guide and nurture his soul in peace.
